I am a counsellor registered and insured with the Association of Cooperative Counsellors of Canada (ACCT) - MTC #1019. If you live in Canada, some or all of your fees may be covered by your insurance provider. If you do not see your provider listed below, you can request consideration on a case-by-case basis. I provide letters of introduction to my services and my counselling association, should you wish to pursue coverage.

 

Receiving coverage is dependent upon your employer's benefit plan coverage wording. Insurance companies cover what their clients want to pay for, in essence. Some insurers will be open to you choosing your own counsellor, so you can ask your insurer if you do not see your provider below.

ACCT: Association of Counselling Therapists of Canada

After paying for my services, you can seek reimbursement from the following insurers with ACCT:

 

Sun Life - Your policy must state that Counselling or Psychotherapy is covered.

 

Pacific Blue Cross - Blue Cross covers me in British Columbia for plans that cover the services of clinical counsellors.

Alberta Blue Cross - Only a few of their policies cover clinical counsellors. Most of their policies specify coverage through a psychologist or social worker, and I would not be covered in those cases.

Manitoba Blue Cross will cover my services if you have a counselling plan.

​

The Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan will cover my services.

​

Green Shield - for plans that cover clinical counsellors.

 

Equitable Life of Canada will cover my services.

 

ClaimSecure - Please ensure your client's policy covers "counsellors."

iA Financial Group (Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.) will cover my services.

CASE BY CASE PROVIDERS​

ManuLife - Claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis through ACCT. If you are declined, I am now covered for Manulife as a Telus Health Counselling provider. You can register for Telus Health HERE. Alternatively, you can reference my Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta membership number, #1782.

Canada Life does not have an official agreement with my counselling association. However, they review claims on a case-by-case basis. Please send them my website link and request coverage when you submit your receipt for the first time or submit it through Telus Health, as described below. 

 

Before you submit your claim, please confirm that your benefits plan includes counselling or the services of clinical counsellors, which are covered by my services. Some policies might require you to see a psychologist or a social worker instead.​​​​​​​​
